Here we go. Start drooling in anticipation of this weekend. The TOP 10 TRENDING WINES on Real Time Wine. Your shopping list ladies and gents...

This week is a SPECIAL EDITION where we include the top rated review for each of the Top 10. Congrats Winos, Winemakers and Wine Fans. The wines are a little bit pricier this week, but there's gold in them hills!

#1   2010 The Chocolate Block by Boekenhoutskloof (R170)

Wine-Swine, Bottle Bandit: This blend is really nice. Plenty spiced fruit, some chocolate and very smooth. I suspect I can get similar wines for far less though.

#2   2011 Pinotage by Diemersfontein (R72)

mys_Tree, New Grape on the Block: Smells devine. And the taste doesn't disappoint. Smooth, and has a nice texture - not watery, not syrupy. Beautiful wine.

#3   2011 Chardonnay Pinot Noir by Haute Cabriere (R78)

DougVining, Bottle Bandit: Delicious fruity but dry and with a classy hint of wood. Blended from red and white but it's not pink. Great with seafood and summer breezes

#4   2009 Cabernet Sauvignon by Allesverloren (R100)

AndyHadfield, Wine Warrior: It's ok. Pretty smooth. Prett fruity. Lacks something though. It doesn't complete me. Liven it up with rich, spicy food.

#5   2009 Alto Rouge by Alto (R80)

Quasergrif, Social Spritzer: My dad once tried to pimp my sister off to the Alto cellarmaster because he loved Alto Rouge so much.

#6   2010 Life From Stone by Springfield (R96)

NealKernohan, New Grape on the Block: My favourite Sauvignon Blanc. Guava, flint, it's all there!

#7   2010 Shiraz by De Grendel (R88)

DarranStone, Bottle Bandit: Spicy and floral, a balanced wine that has flavours of coriander and cloves. Very good wine for the price!

#8   2011 Fat Bastard Chardonnay by Thierry & Guy (R58)

mbangoza, New Grape on the Block: Fits the gluggable Chardonnay genre perfectly, lime and lemon with a positive woody effect. Also a great conversation piece.

#9   2008 Serenity by Ataraxia (R130)

AntonyStiglingh, Bottle Bandit:
Pleasant and mysterious. Apparently the blend is an uber secret. Tastes like a guilty secret, I like.

#10 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon by Tukulu (R49)

DougVining, Bottle Bandit: Nice and smooth, softish but not limp, some fruity power on the tongue, like a friendly kiss that promises a little more.
